Learn how to clean your Oral-B iO electric toothbrush
Because one of the main purposes of a toothbrush is to remove bacteria from your mouth, it’s important to keep your toothbrush sanitary and free of bacteria. After brushing, thoroughly rinse the brush head while the toothbrush is switched on to minimize toothpaste residue remaining on the brush between uses.
-
Switch off the brush, remove the brush head from the handle, and clean both parts separately under running water. Please ensure that the toothbrush (without the brush head) is switched on while cleaning. Best cleaning is achieved when water is pushed out via the little openings on the grey connector part.
-
Wipe both handle and brush head dry (with a soft towel).
-
Note: especially when you live in a hard water area you are advised to wipe dry instead of leaving to air dry
-
Leave both the handle and brush head to air dry further before putting the brush head and handle back together. When you put them back together, ensure the brush head is pushed fully onto the handle so there is no/little gap.
-
If necessary, it is OK to use a mild detergent/cleanser and water to clean the outside of the handle.
-
To clean the charger, unplug it, wipe with a damp cloth then let the unit dry before you use it.
Note: Do not put the toothbrush handle or brush heads in boiling water or into a dishwasher/washing machine. Doing so exposes them to high temperatures which can result in damage to the handle/heads. This can also impair the seal of the handle and allow water in, causing a moldy smell.
