Oral-B is a brand of oral hygiene products, including manual and electric toothbrushes, toothpastes, mouthwashes and dental floss and is owned by Procter & Gamble.
In 1949, the first manual toothbrush was designed in the United States by a dentist who sold it under the name "Oral-B". His company grew steadily and was bought by the multinational Gillette in 1984. The same company already owned the German manufacturer of electrical appliances Braun, which had developed one of the first electric toothbrushes in the 60s. From the collaboration between Oral-B and Braun, the first Oral B electric toothbrush powered by Braun came on the market in 1987.
In 2005, Oral-B became a brand of Procter & Gamble, which acquired it through the acquisition of the Gillette Company. Since then Oral B powered by Braun electric toothbrushes and all other Oral B products are produced and distributed around the world, serving users of all ages and different needs.
